THE FOUNDER
Meet LaTonia D. Jackson
Meet LaTonia D. Jackson, originally from Conway, South Carolina, and raised in Miami, Florida. Growing up there, she learned the importance of giving back to the community. LaTonia was eager to find ways to help her community while practicing selflessness. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Fort Valley State College, a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Albany State College, a Juris Doctorate with a focus on Human Rights from Nova Southeastern Shepard Broad Law Center, a Doctorate in Christian Counseling from Word Bible College, and an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Christian Studies from Trinity Theological Seminary of South Florida.
QUALIFICATIONS
With her legal and human rights background, LaTonia passionately used her skills to make a difference. For over a decade, she worked with a local ministry and the United Way of Greater Miami, coordinating a food bank program that provided food to more than 250 families each month through grant writing. Additionally, she served as a Guardian ad Litem in Broward County, advocating for children involved in the judicial system and foster care.
As an attorney, LaTonia remained dedicated to Public Interest Law, providing pro-bono legal assistance to those without resources. Her calling to serve people worldwide became evident when she was ordained as a prophet in 2010. She traveled internationally, even visiting Curacao, Netherlands Antilles, alongside fellow prophets.
COMMITMENTS
LaTonia’s commitment to helping others extended beyond her local community. She volunteered in various countries, supporting orphanages and assisting street children’s education and well-being in places like Nairobi, Kenya, Tanzania, Dandora, and Costa Rica.
In November 2022, LaTonia’s strong sense of purpose was reignited, prompting her to enroll in Florida Theological International, Inc.’s Chaplain Academy. There, she became a licensed and ordained Chaplain Pastor with a focus on Christian Counseling. While supporting disadvantaged women, widows, and children aligned with her purpose, LaTonia felt the urge to do more. This led to the official establishment of My Widow’s Keeper Foundation, Inc. in 2023, as she continued her impactful journey.
